Welcome to the World Championships area. All the info for the Welsh team will be here over the course of the championships, and will be running stats of the lads so can see how everyone is getting along.
During the tournament Wales' very own Will Barrett will also be sending his daily blog which you can read here
I will also be hoping to add any photos from the games and in and around the championships as I recieve them from the boys over there, so watch this space for the very latest from Canada.
Wales Lacrosse would also like to thank Yorkhire Building Society, for their genourous support, and who have paid for the teams training kit and apparel. The WLA are delighted to have them supporting the team.
Group Games Finished
After a good start to the group games with a 14-0 victory over Hong Kong, Wales' group matches finished today with their third defeat in as many days (7-3 to Scotland, 20-7 to Italy and 12-4 to Ireland). Those results mean that Wales finish fourth in the red division
Play-in Games
Having beaten spain 17-9 Wales progressed to play the Czech Republic, who beat us twice two years ago in Prague in the European Champs. In a very close game Wales edged it 9-8 in overtime after the game had finished at 7-7. That put Wales into the 13th place playoff with Latvia, whom proved little opposition for the Welsh side as they cruised to an 18-2 victory to claim 13th place.
Photos coming in
The first photos are coming back from canada - for the latest click on the pictures link on the side bar, from any of the world championship pages. Also have small movie of the stadium here (need quicktime to view it)
